چکیده

Femtosecond pump-probe measurements find pronounced dimensionality dependence of the optical nonlinearity in cuprates. Although the coherent twophoton absorption (TPA) and linear absorption bands nearly overlap in both quasi-one and two-dimensional (1D and 2D) cuprates, the TPA coefficient is one order of magnitude smaller in 2D than in 1D. Furthermore, picosecond recovery of optical transparency is observed in 1D cuprates, while the recovery in 2D involves relaxation channels with a time scales of tens of picoseconds. The experimental results are interpreted within the two-band extended Hubbard model. Transport and magnetic behavior of strongly correlated electron (SCE) systems, which depend on the lowest excitations, have been studied extensively in recent years. High energy electronic excitations, in contrast, have received less attention. Linear absorption studies,

Influence of Interface Thermal Resistance on Relaxation Dynamics of Metal-Dielectric Nanocomposite Materials under Ultrafast Pulse Laser Excitation

Nanocomposite materials, including noble metal nanoparticles embedded in a dielectric host medium, are interesting because of their optical properties linked to surface plasmon resonance phenomena. For studding of nonlinear optical properties and/or energy transfer process, these materials may be excited by ultrashort pulse laser with a temporal width varying from some femtoseconds to some hund...

Spectroscopic evidence for Fermi liquid-like energy and temperature dependence of the relaxation rate in the pseudogap phase of the cuprates.

Cuprate high-Tc superconductors exhibit enigmatic behavior in the nonsuperconducting state. For carrier concentrations near "optimal doping" (with respect to the highest Tcs) the transport and spectroscopic properties are unlike those of a Landau-Fermi liquid. On the Mott-insulating side of the optimal carrier concentration, which corresponds to underdoping, a pseudogap removes quasi-particle s...

Theoretical comparison analysis of long and short external cavity semiconductor laser

In this paper, considering optical feedback as an optical injection, and taking in to account round-trip time role in the external cavity, a standard small signal analysis is applied on laser rate equations. By considering the relaxation oscillation (f2) and external cavity frequencies (f) ratio for semiconductor laser, field amplitude response gain, optical phase and carrier number for long ex...

Dispersion and Nonlinearity in Ultra-Optical Ga2O3 and TiO2-Bi2O3-PbO Glass Systems

Dispersion, as the characteristic variation of refractive index with wavelength, is more pronounced, where the wavelength is approaching to the absorption band. In ultra-optical glasses, the nonlinear refractive index, concerning to the light intensity dependent phenomenon, becomes considerable. Here, two ultra-optical property glass systems; TiO2-Bi2O3-PbO (TBP...

Noise and functional protein dynamics.

The magnetic field dependence of the proton-spin-lattice relaxation rate in rotationally immobilized proteins shows that the one-dimensional character of the protein primary structure causes a dramatic increase in the population of low-frequency motions from 10 kHz to 20 MHz. As a consequence, the probability and rate at which functionally critical conformational states are thermally sampled in...
